Our Mission
To teach adults to read, write, speak and understand English so that they may
achieve personal, educational, employment and civic goals.
Through the effective use of trained volunteer tutors, LVGW offers free classes to approximately 200 adult learners each year.
Our Programs
Basic Literacy: Teaches reading and writing to adults who speak and understand English.
English as a Second Language: Teaches new immigrants and refugees to read, write, speak and understand English.
U.S. Citizenship Preparation: Helps our adult learners successfully pass the test and interview.
Family Literacy: LVGW sponsors Family Read® classes, Storytimes and Book Giveaways throughout Waterbury.
Workplace Literacy: LVGW offers on-site classes to build a better workforce.
