Program Brochure 2012: Amazing Programs, Fantastic Books 

The Children's Department has put together a fun-filled list of programs for the Fall. Most performances are recommended for Children age 4 and up. All programs are free, and registration is requested.

 


Song, Dance & the Possibilities

February 16, 2012, 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., Children's Room
Brian Gillie dares to break the rules to create extra-ordinary change in rythm, lyrics, melody or style of songs and dances. Children learn to trust their ideas and feel the magic of their own inventions.


Earthworms, Doodlebugs & Dirt

March 15, 2012, 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Children's Room
Mike Kachuba uses a musical presentation to portray the natural world and its smaller inhabitants in nature. Children learn, move to, and sing songs about creatures that wiggle, crawl, creep and fly.


Pumpernickel Puppets

April 12, 2012, 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Children's Room
John McDonough presents a cast of colorful characters enlivened with voices and sound effects. The puppets will entertain and stimulate children through creativity and audience participation.



Going Green

May 16, 2012, 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Children's Room
Giovanni Ciarlo has extensive Latin American musical experience and wears many hats: artist, carftsperson, educator, and folklorist. He plays a wide assortment of percussion instruments which he makes (berimbau, kalimba, log drums and turtle shell.)
